Twenty people, consisting of parents, community members, board members, teachers and staff, came to the meeting to discuss the Continuous Improvement Plan (CIP) for Days Creek Charter School on Thursday, February 21.

All districts must submit a continuous improvement plan to Oregon Department of Education every three years. The purpose is to set forth a vision, strategic plan, and evaluation for continuous improvement.

The meeting started with evaluating the Mission/Vision Statement. Participants chose committees in which to laser focus strategic planning and evaluating.

The next CIP Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, March 12 at 6 p.m. in Room 215.  If you would like to participate, contact Mr. Woods at [email protected]  CIP Presentation

Prep Basketball: Skyline League Tournament will tip off Tuesday

2/14/2019

AARON YOST The News-Review

Feb 10, 2018Pairings for the Skyline League District Tournament were set Saturday night after the Pacific and Camas Valley girls basketball teams settled a tie for first in the South division.
Camas Valley (13-10, 8-5 South) won that playoff 27-17 at Myrtle Point High School. The Hornets and Pacific had tied for the league title and help create a change to the league standard operating procedures in the past 10 days.
Skyline athletic directors reverted the state qualification SOP during a recent meeting, returning the process to its previous arrangement. The two division winners are protected to the semifinals of the district tournament.
The league’s three state playoff berths will be decided in a loser-out third place game and the championship contest.
Before the basketball season began, the league had changed its SOPs to protect the two division winners to the state playoffs — leaving seeding and the third state spot to be decided in the district tourney. However, as the league season played out, it became obvious to a majority of administrators that it was the wrong approach, at least for now.
“We were not going to get the three best to state, so we voted and most of the ADs agreed and we changed that,” Days Creek Athletic Director Ron Dunn said.  Continue Reading
